Networking specialist devolo has announced a 33% price reduction on its dLAN Audio extender, cutting the cost of streaming CD quality music throughout the home.
The dLAN Audio extender is a plug-and-play audio networking system which connects PC’s to in-house entertainment systems, to distribute music to any room in the house over existing electrical wiring, eliminating the need for extra cabling.
Pricing for the dLAN Audio extender starter kit is now just £79.99inc VAT, a reduction of 33% off the original list price of £119.99inc VAT. According to devolo, the price reduction will encourage more people to distribute music around the home in this way, coinciding with the growing trend towards powerline networking in the home.
Peter Huddleston, UK operations manager at devolo said: “The dLAN Audio extender now represents a very a cost-effective means of streaming music all around the home, without the inconvenience of having to install extra cabling. Simply plug the adaptor into a wall socket and the existing electrical wiring acts as speak cables, transmitting music from PC to any room in the house.â€
The dLAN Audio extender brings together the advantages of HomePlug and dLAN networking technologies in a single adaptor, making it possible to distribute all audio files stored on a home PC by simply connecting the PC to a conventional dLAN adaptor via a Lan Cable, which is plugged into the nearest mains socket. MP3, WMA, WAV and AAC music files can then be played through an entertainment system or through speakers in any room in the house
